I guess when Bitcoin reaches the 10k area... we're going to have major swings now? All a learning process apparently.

Coindesk said Bitcoin reached a high of 11,377.33 and a low of 9,295.79.... Swing of $2,081.54 You kidding me?

That's just crazy.

yes, major swing but if you think about it, 9k was the all time high less than a week ago. It basically just erased the profits that we made but the pattern has been that it comes back after a big downswing to reach an all time high..pretty sure it will recover within the next week or 2...

we'll be at 11,300 in two weeks, if it even takes that long

agreed, not too worried...Since I'm in for the long term, I try not to get to high or low with these peaks or valleys. I firmly believe that within a year we'll be approaching 50k, how it gets there and what happens in between just try to take in stride and keep eye on the prize...

Just like the exchange I mentioned last night I think we will see some new exchanges dominate the us maeket in coming years, the ones we have with the options we have are pretty poor

coinbase is making changes. gdax will have a lot more access to alt coins. they want to be the go to place for crypto in the US

If you're just doing Bitcoin... Gemini is a very nice exchange.

If you have options where to send your Bitcoin.... maybe price em out at a few exchanges before you send? Coinbase tends to rip you off on the sell price. Buy price too. I hate them.

I just use GDAX since that's the investor platform and since you can set limit orders, you can name your price without a fee.

There's a lot of VERY INTELLIGENT investors in on this Bitcoin. They knew the spike was coming.... and they figured 11.3 k was the perfect sell off price. And the same people will get back in at 10k or lower. These guys are sharks. Must be nice to have 5-10 or more BTC laying around and make a quick 5-10k and not lift a finger.

I agree. Takes a lot of balls to do that. I give them credit though.... they know their percentages. Must be nice getting out with 5 BTC and making 5k.... then getting back in the game at a low price.

Coinbase won a partial victory against the IRS today. It's been discussed before that the IRS was requesting records for nearly 500,000 people, but Coinbase was able to reduce this down to 14,000 customers who did the most transactions from 2013-2015.

P.S. Might want to be careful if you're looking to do transactions. The mempool was under 10MB over the weekend and is now pushing 31MB as of posting. Probably a surge in transactions with Bitcoin crossing $10k, but expect a backlog and higher fees if this volume doesn't subside soon.

Every time the Bitcoin gets around 10.6k or so... the sell offs occur.

Declines around 9.7k mark or so and the buys start up again....

Missed out yesterday at 8800 when gdax and coinbase were down, wire just hit today... have a limit buy set at 8900, hoping for some volatility today.. ETH at 413 right now is a bargain, thinking of selling some ltc and increasing my position there.

100% coinbase has some shady stuff going on. Site goes down during all big surges and drops but the big players in the market still have access and are trading. I'm in for the long haul and not affected much by daily activity but it's 100% sketchy at best. And for the everyday joe that we all need to get involved in this for it to boom, it doesn't do anything for their confidence, which is what really pisses me off.

I don't see it taking that big a dip again, but you've been fairly accurate with this stuff, see another LTC Dip coming now that it hit 100 again

yea, I don't see a dip coming.. id be surprised if we aren't at 11,300 btc, 500 eth, 105 ltc by Sunday. cme contracts have been getting worked on recently, which is why we saw the rebound today. made some money with IOTA and ADA.. 30 and 40% in the matter of two days respectively on each.

Many can say 5 years is the long haul, or 9 years is the long haul, and those people have made out fairly well. Hell a 1 year long haul has seen 10x on your $.

Every market caps out at people get the short end of the stick. But to make a blanket statement like that is about as ignorant as it gets. Usually coming from regretful people that let the opportunity pass.

Only thing I can think of... this huge spike increase... are people jumping in for the upcoming forks?

If you feel that is the case.... this thing could reach HUGE numbers before the middle of the month.
