That's 6 blocks down. Now whenever the first block comes out larger than 1 mb the split will be official.

FWIW, TTT, I recommend selling your BTC for cash. My guess -- and I totally might be wrong, of course -- is that BTC will get dumped after the split, knocking its price down. You've already got your BCC, so you don't "need" your BTC anymore.

I sold my BTC, not my BCC, which I'm not sure if there's any markets for yet. We'll have to wait on that. But now that you have the BCC, you can sell your BTC for 'dollars', if you agree w/ me that the price of BTC is likely to fall today.

the fork is official. The 'snapshot' has been taken. Anyone who wants to can now sell their btc without losing their bcc.

Oh, my bad, if I caused confusion. I just noticed in my post a couple above this one that I did accidentally say "BCC" once where I meant "BTC," but ya know, I was caught up in the glow of my dino-love so I was typing as fast as I could.

I don't know if you know this, but as far as I can tell YOU were the first source of information that BCC was available at Bittrex on the entire internet. Most people couldn't log in to Bittrex -- they've been whining all morning. But I'm guessing you must've been logged in from last night and just never logged out? That's how I got lucky and was able to act on your info.

Apparently the difficulty starts off super hard for first 6 blocks and if they take too long it will drop by 20% each 6 blocks until there is enough mining power to process the first BCC block.

at 7:20am there was nothing as we discussed. just kept refreshing over the next 45 mintues and all of a sudden there it was the new line with the same # of coins.

Yeah, that was crazy fast -- like, way crazy, unexpected fast -- at Bittrex. Don't worry, the BCC will parachute into our Bitfinex accounts, but it might take a while. It doesn't actually matter until there's some BCC markets up and running, which I don't see yet anywhere.

Does anybody else see any BCC markets yet? If not, they're coming, too.

Yep, for the very stupid reason that crypto people prefer complexity over simplicity, the formula was the first block greater than 1 mb after the 6th block after 8:20am EST. Clear as mud, right?

Oh, hey, Jake, I just remembered, one of the Bitfinex guys posted yesterday somewhere -- I'm too tired to be sure where now -- that our accts would be credited for BCC today, but he wasn't sure when.

So if, when I wake back up, we still haven't gotten it, you and I can start the spate of low level complaining for them to get their act together.

BCU is Bitcoin Unlimited. That's different than Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Don't move BTC from exchanges if you want to be credited with BCH.
