They play the first half? I understand not wanting to risk a key player getting hurt, but at the same time I don't see any coach choosing to fully rest players tonight and Week 17, on top of a first round bye. Too much time off imho..agree/disagree?

if you base it off the line, cowboys are still -6.5 in a game you can see Detroit NEEDS to win. Detroit can lose tonight and next week and not make the playoffs.
I have Zeke for fantasy and all articles I see says Garrett is not sitting any starters or plans on resting them. Back in 2011 I believe, Cowboys rested guys last 3 weeks of season as #1 seed and lost 2 of their last 3 and lost first playoff game.

NFL players don't rest games, their careers are defined by statistics and missing 1 game especially for an RB or WR can be huge difference.

I'm thinking the Boys play the starters in the 1st half just to stay sharp and get some PT in before the playoffs start..... Then I'm thinking they will probably begin to rest players in the second half regardless of the score...
That's what I would do anyways if I were the head coach.. Seeing all the quarterback injuries going on around the league would spook me, wouldn't wanna risk an injury with Dak or Zeke..
So maybe the sharp play would be to play the boys in the 1st half and then perhaps consider playing the Lions in the second half...
