What is there to say ?
Thomas is not distinctly missed, Celtics are still looking for a trade,
to get a superstar... they are loaded with capable, young talent that
is giving the league veterans heart attacks because the C's keep up the
pressure all night long, they are young and dumb and full of c-m as the saying
is so accurate, well-coached and have guts.
Recent games are stacked with tight games that could have gone either way
against the league's elite. Tonight perhaps they can break the losing streak at
San Antonio which has lasted for about 10 years. Throwing bodies at Leonard and keeping
tight coverage on Ginobli will be key, Boston can do that. Boston can give the Spurs
fits, half-court pressure should be Stevens plan. Relentless pressure.
Going to need strong defense from Boston's bigs, and staying out of too much foul trouble,
if they can do that, they can win. Saying Boston can't win would be lazy. The Spurs are
still elite but they are not as athletic anymore. On the fast break Boston takes them.
If Smart and Bradley are knocking them down at a decent rate, Celtics can win, the line
is overinflated, should not be greater than +190/200 at the most.
The kicker for me is Boston is already on the road and has had 3 days to plan
for this game. The Spurs have had 4, but the only way they can truly game plan
against Boston is to slow the game down and dominate inside, so it's known.. Stevens
will be aware of this and keep the ball moving quickly, he will attack them with darty
inside-coverage, going for steals and quick pass patterns - the kind which can catch
a slower team like the Spurs off-guard.
