Isn't that part of the strategy? Match up teams that will show the fans a good game! i know that is a lot easier to say it than do it - but that would be a real screw job for a team to get in a bowl game against a team they have no chance with.

I take that stat as the spread is not often relevant. Even as a favorite, if you win you cover the spread. It seems like there's a one-sided scores in bowl games supporting the notion that some teams don't show up for these games. In bowl games, if you like the underdog, just bet on the moneyline. If you like the favorite to win, bet them to cover the spread.
