he's 4-7 with pats, falcons, and seattle coming up, potentially 4-10 at that point and screams would be much louder for him to go. extending him before the slaughter was the only way to quell the firestorm. Unfortunately, drafting Goff bought him a few more years and the team knew that. they should have extended him before the season. they were never gonna fire him with a rookie qb and keenum.

Why would you extend Fisher? Let the season play out and see how it goes. Who is in a bidding war for Jeff Fisher's services, other than Costa shades? Tampa Bay got rid of Lovie with a rookie QB, so firing a coach with a rookie QB has been done before.

Bizarre. He had to be one of the favorites to be the next coach fired and they actually extend him.
The king of 7-9 will be lucky to even get 6 wins this year

I think Kroenke realized he would have a full on mutiny on his hands if he didn't extend him. That's kind of a shitty place to put your spiffy new QB in. This is basically a one year get out of jail free card. It's unlikely he will ever see the inside of the new stadium except as a fan.

Tampa situation not even close. they sacrificed Lovie to maintain Cutter. Rams knew how the season would go. Keenum? and they knew he wasn't starting Goff. That pick bought him extended job security. ownership somehow believes in him like a fan watching a 7-9 team saying," one play here, one play there". the extension is a horrible choice but i believe it was predetermined before the draft.

Rams are now hearing loud and clear. Fired Jeff Fisher.
