The people here might include mostly rednecks, but in years past they have nevertheless raised hell when buzzards start roosting on their roof tops, waiting for the meat left on the bone to warm up enough so they can eat/digest it.....

doesn't prove shit except that:
1. I'm a good shot (275 yrds away, perfect bullet placement behind the front shoulder, through rib cage into vitals, (non-gutshot) -- entry and exit wounds wasted no meat, except about two ribs worth);
2. that I love to hunt and have been doing it since I was 7, deer at around age 11; this buck is no. 101 I've dropped since then;
3. I've got a lot more processing to do today (separating hindquarters into steaks, various roasts, trimming up the back straps and front shoulders, and tirimming anything that can't be packaged as steaks into sausage, etc., freezer wrapping, packaging and labeling all the cuts, etc); and
4. I'm gonna enjoy eating venison all throughout the year.....
hunting has never been about proving masculinity for me, it's always been about family tradition, skill, respect of the game we harvest, use of that game, enjoying time in the outdoors, and the trove of life long memories created among family members that really enjoy being there with each other at the deer camp for years..... More of those were created yesterday.....
