If Luck was starting what would the line be?
Just had a real good discussion with a buddy of mine.

He posed the question what would the line be with Luck starting today, I told him "line is sitting at 8 right now, Luck is a tier one QB, Tolzien hasn't started in three years when he backed up Aaron Rodgers, I'd say Steelers 1.5 favorite, Luck is worth 6.5 points to the Colts offense in this spot"

The he counters with "but the public always overreacts when a star QB goes down, seems like when a star QB goes down the favorite rarely covers."

I was like "I think that might be due to the coaching staff coming up with a game plan to minimize the damage, you know, safe passes with Gore in the backfield, tight end slants, stuff like that, you know Tolzien isn't going to air it out to Hilton and the boys"

I'm not laying the 8 or 9, but if I had to bet it my money would be on Big Ben and Bell, and Brown and the rest of the freaks.

So Luck isn't a TD better than Tolzien?

As far as lines go I dont think so. Id lay -3 Pitt if Luck were playing. Only 2 teams have played a worse schedule than Colts, I like him, but I think people overrate him a bit.

I looked at the game both ways three different times.
The only case you can really make for Indy is Steelers defense is ordinary, I would lay Pitt also -3 with Luck starting, but not higher than 3.

The line came out for a bit on pinny and Pitt was -3 before it went off the board.

Steelers opened at a juiced -2.5 so there is your answer. Either -2.5 -120 or -3 +100.

Was just gonna post what lt posted. I think 2.5 still would have taken heavy action and surprised it opened there but moved to 9 as soon as luck was ruled out
