I don't remember seeing this many so early in games. Is this usual and I just haven't been paying attention??

Take a team like Bears. Barth sucks. Your gonna win maybe 4 games all year. Why not go for 2 every time and see if you can figure out some schemes that may help you in future years??

I can't find a pat conversion but looking at team by team averages it's gonna drop below the 94% it hit last year. That means that expected value of 2 pt conversion is 1.08 points vs .94 points for pat.

Math says you always go for two and has for years. Waiting for coaches to embrace it.

It's still situational, but yea. Coaches aren't mathematicians. That's why many butcher simple game management situations that a 14 year old with a few seasons of madden under his belt have mastered

announcers are annoying about this. simple explanation. kickers don't miss based on skill or leg strength. it's timing and pressure. after pat moved back, its like being forced to make 3 additional field goals a game if your team scores 3 touchdowns. its double the distance they were previously asked to kick, so it's foolish to expect the same percentage.

Consider it a systematic shift in the NFL designed to mitigate the value of key numbers, removing some market mechanics that players have used for just about ever to beat the other players and the markets.

It will take time and key numbers may change unless field goals and two point conversions can close the gap.

Something to keep an eye on moving forward.
