#143WEEK 13
NE -13.5 home to Rams....I still have them available
Seattle -6.5 home to Panthers....I still have Seattle available
Pitt -5.5 home to Giants....I still have Pitt available
That's it for "big favorites"..not really considering Seattle or Pitt a big favorite in fact I would take Carolina + the points and Gmen
Minor Favorites include
New Orleans -4.5 home to Detroit...I used NO this past week
SD -3.5 home to TBay....MY CURRENT WEEK 13 PICK
Oakland -3.5 home to Buffalo....I still have Oakland available
GBay -4.5 home to Houston....I have used Gbay earlier in the year
Atlanta -4 home to KC....I have atlanta available
Super super tough week. My pool currently has 19 people left and only 4 have the availability to use NE myself included. I have NE set for next week, but if I move them to this week then next week turns into a real tough selection week.
Currently I have SD as my pick. I could change to Oakland but I'm still not in LOVE with Oakland, they are finding ways to win, not pretty at all.
Atlanta this week isn't awful, they play well at home, best offense in NFL.
Seattle and Pitt both at home, but again I like both upsets at least with the spread, and I have Seattle and Pitt for weeks 15 and 16...better match-ups.
If I stick with SD, I'll have NE for week 14 home to Baltimore. If I switch to NE this week, then week 14, I will have to choose b/t idk maybe eagles home to redskins, or maybe detroit home to bears
Tough week this week and next for sureComment -

#144nice write up, Sam.......I'm definitely leaning Atlanta now after last night's hard fought emotional win against a division rival...KC might be in letdown mode again...that and the Falcons almost score at will on offense and in the home dome...I'm laying off San Diego (although I still have them) because Tampa Bay is hotter than a fresh fukked fox in a forest fire right now...which violates rule #4 of Da'Manster's survivor pool manifesto:...don't bet against a red hot team!

#160^^^...unless the road team is heavily favored by at least more than a TD...or if the home team is horrible like the Browns...but that is the exception, not the rule......My best bet options this week are:
Atlanta over KC
SD over Tampa Bay
Oakland over Buffalo
Denver over Jax (Jax is home team)Comment -

#161Initially I had SD over TBay. Then next week had NE over Ravens. NE is easy pick this week and I still have them and only 4 of my 19 left can use them.
After thinking it over Ravens play NE super tough and have beaten them in playoffs in NE in the past and it's a risky play. I'll take the safe spot this week with NE and be shocked if they lost and tentative play will be Detroit next week over the Bears.Comment -

#162good choice, Sam...IMO, a no-brainer...take the Pats this week and live to fight another day.......In addition to my picks I also have Baltimore over Miami this week...but the dolphins have won 6 in a row and are red hot...no doubt they can win at Baltimore...that is why I scratched that game...I also still have the Packers left and they play the Texans in Green Bay...but I don't know if that Philly game was a fluke or not but I still can't trust them just yet...I remember when they eliminated 15 of our players several weeks ago when they lost to Indy at home!...
....so out of my entire viable options for this week who would you choose: Atlanta, SD, Oakland, Denver, Baltimore, or Green Bay?

#163In order from those above
Gbay...but like you say can we trust them??? I think they are in desperate mode, great game last night and keep it going
SD...better than their record shows. Good home team and Tbay is shaky on the road this year. Expect a shoot out
Denver...although I NEVER take road teams, it's better than Oakland or Baltimore. Jax is horrible and I really was expecting them to be good this year, but they clearly are not. In that division, Denver needs to win the games they are expected to win and not have weak losses
Atlanta...best offense in the league. Need to keep winning to stay on top of the division. KC been good all year, just can't get over the playoff hump and win a game
Oakland....I'm still not a believer in Oakland. Have watched them last 2 weeks and they found ways to win both games. Could have easily lost both games. I guess you can say I great team always finds a way to win...like the Lions I guess this year, but Buffalo has a half decent offense, but they aren't great on the road, I'm just not in love with Oakland
Baltimore...like you said above, Miami on crazy win streak but they aren't a team I love either. Baltimore can play with the best, but can also lose to the worst.
Keep in mind when I'm analyzing teams, I'm thinking about 1 game. Not who will win superbowl, but who will win 1 game this week to advance to the next. Seems so easy and we all know how hard is really is from week 1 all the way to week 13 and so forth.
I'm lucky to have NE going this week and going with them. Good luck for whoever has to decide on a different team.Comment -

#166Not for nothing but TB is 4-1 on the road this year. Only loss was a blowout to Arizona in week 2, after a win at Atlanta week 1. Other road wins were Carolina, San Fran, and KC. Last 3 weeks Bucs D has done a complete 180 after an awful start. Doesn't mean they'll win but I wouldn't count on a SD cakewalk.
That said I'm also riding NE. Good luck allComment -

#169yeah, they have the propensity to choke in big games or late in the season but this team seems different...they seem to have that "it" factor and their offense hasn't disappointed...One thing that I've learned and noticed over the years when it comes to gambling is that teams that are coming off huge, emotional wins against their division rivals (e.g. KC Chiefs) tend to have a major letdown the week after and wind up losing the game regardless of who the opponent is...that and the fact that Atlanta is at home are big reasons why I might play the falcons this week against KC.Comment -
