When the Houston Texans rallied from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit, there were a number of fans who weren’t there to see it.


They made the time honored traditional mistake of leaving early — because apparently NO ONE HAS LEARNED.
The players weren’t pleased.

“I hope their brisket turned out OK,” said Vince Wilfork. “They had to go home and check it … To see you have a shot in the game and to see half the stadium empty, it was surprising to be honest with you. I never encountered that before but I guess it is what it is.”

Charles James II wasn’t as generous.

“It just shows your true colors,” he said.

Brock Osweiler said he hoped fans learned something about the team.

I use to have season tickets to the Texans years ago. They got their ass kicked on a Sunday night to Kansas City, where they were losing 28-0 towards the half. My wife turned to me and said "This is not fun, let's get the hell out of here". We left with about 2 minutes to go in the half. We have been to hundreds of sporting events together but we have never, ever left a game before halftime. We got home and she said she was done supporting the Texans and we haven't purchased season tickets since.

Another friend of mine was a die hard Texans fan. We told him about giving up our tickets. He said he was in it for the long haul. A couple years later he's calling me from his car, celebrating a Texans victory where he was able to leave early. Little did he know that the other team (I can't even remember what team it was) came back and won the game. I was laughing at him on the phone. I told him to check the news because they lost, he was like, get the hell out of here. He dumped his tickets that year as well. My neighbor refuses to give up her tickets, even though she never goes.
