Anyone else think the Dodgers would be better served to start the kid Urias at home today and have Kershaw rested for Game 5? Dodgers would still be favored in Game 4 and obviously be better positioned if a Game 5 in Washington.

I agree totally, and Kershaw's back issues make pitching on 3 days rest even more tricky.

Veteran pitchers go on 3 days rest in the post season all the time.

If skip thinks that is their best chance to win, I would guess that his opinion is far more valuable than anybody on this forum

All that being said... I like WAS +200 because it is MLB playoffs and nobody really should be favored at such odds

Yes and Kershaw himself has done it successfully. BUT difference this year is the back injury, it was not too long ago that some people had doubts as to whether or not he would return at all this season.

They can't just use ANY lefty from AAA, players had to be on the 40-man roster as of September 1st to be eligible for post-season.

Kershaw gives them by far the best chance to win this game, but it takes there chances in game 5 way way down.

I get the whole "play for today" thing, but you cant be too short sighted.

Well. Lopez (another righty) would be the first man out of the pen in the early innings, but in middle innings Nats have several lefties in Solis, Oliver Perez and Rzepczynski. Solis may not be available though after throwing 34 pitches yesterday.
