My feed in Florida just got a prop ad from California, paid for by Bloomberg. Why are we taxing soda in CA beyond sales tax?

      Thanks.

Was simply curious is anyone on the coasts could explain why Bloomberg is buying national air time for 2 local props in CA, and why on earth would any consumer product available to children be taxed with a 'sin tax'?

i know sounded it like smart ass but that really is what is driving the pro tax movement they want to stop diabetes and over weight kids. i think they tried to stop big gulps to a while back but that failed, i could be wrong on this but i stopped following the nanny state bullshit around that time and i left the state

california can break off and sink as far as im concernced the world will be a better place without it

Another form of a sin tax. I couldn't care less, haven't had a pop in almost 9 years. Just stick to the essentials... beer, water, and milk.

That's just criminal, government taxing whatever they want to make some extra cash.

Just wait until beer gets taxed.

I don't drink pop much, but I don't like how they are able to sneak these taxes in and pretend its because they give a shit about kids health.

Keep taxing it, it's contributing to people living unhealthy lives and putting a stress on our medical system
