    Skill-based slots!

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A New York firm hopes to be the first in the world to install skill-based slot machines on casino floors in which the main determining factor in how much a player can win is his or her ability to play the game.
GameCo told The Associated Press on Tuesday that it is ready to put machines in the three Atlantic City casinos owned by Caesars Entertainment as soon as the first week in October, pending approval by New Jersey gambling regulators. But it is in a race with rival firm Gamblit, which earlier this month announced plans to put similar machines in California and Nevada in October, also at Caesars-owned casinos.

They are very clunky. Checked them out at Gaming Expo yesterday.

Theyve worked hard to keep skill out of casinos so I dont believe this is really "skill" based either.

If it's skill-based slots, the skill part is probably just an add-on. Having skill in whatever it is probably just takes your odds from horrible to less-horrible. No way they'd make it +ev with a max skill level.

Take a look at the video. I was having trouble imaging how this could work too. But it makes sense.

It is +EV if you genuinely have top level skill in the game. But the most advantage you can gain is limited by how poorly other people play and have ended up with -EV games playing out.

One thing that seems to be an 'issue' at first glance. These machines are going to get harder and harder to gain a skill advantage on as time passes and their database builds.

An online site that updates what odds each machine is offering each day would be something I could see people visiting too. Maybe an app with user entered info.

Sharp. The easy money isn't in the inventions themselves, but all of the peripherals that go with it.

A friend of mine is bought into the whole VR future. He's putting together ideas for products that you use once you come out of the experience. Way easier than making VR itself.
