So you could have had Utah -1 a few days ago, and now you have to buy them down to -2 1/2, right? Only cowards buy the hook. That is why it is offered. It is a losing play, proven time and time again, but you guys cannot get it through your heads that it is a loser. Just add up all of the money you have waisted buying the hook on wagers that have lost, and compare that to all the wagers that you won because of the hook. I guarantee you that you are behind, because NO ONE that I know is ahead (and that is about 10,000 more people than the 150 or so dummies who post in here.)

tempted to grab live odds 24.5 @ -165, its fluctuating same odds you got 21.5 -160 w/ score 3-3 w/ 3mins left in first qt. i'll probably stay away, but if I get 27pt spread i'll take it

Why would it be a losing play if it hits the number?

Not everyone bets to win... I know I penetrating don't. If I'm gonna put 50 bucks on something and buying the hook takes a push out of the equation who the penetrate cares about a few dollarS?

If you can get -120 it does make mathematical sense to buy off of 3.5 and 7.5, especially in the NFL. If you do this over the long haul, you will be ahead.

I agree buying off of 3 doesn't make sense.
