#38This is AWESOME.
I wish I had seen this sooner I went 2-0 today in non parlays. I don't know about either of this week's remaining games. I'll advise unless you play a spot before I see something.
You can play the Cubs tonight if you want. It's Lester man. That should be lights out but I'm by no means sharp at baseball.Comment -

#42Looks like Sylvia won the event: $800k+
When the underdog beats the favorite in football or basketball a common reaction from the sports punditry is, “That’s why we play out the games.” One team may be higher-rated, with the superior record and home court advantage, but they still have to go out and convert those advantages into a win. Like sports contests, poker tournaments aren’t decided on paper, either. Jesse Sylvia came into the final table of the 2016 World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open $3,500 no-limit hold’em main event as the shortest stack, while Farid Jattin held roughly 45 percent of the chips in play and nearly three times as many chips as the next largest stack. When all was said and done, though, Jattin finished sixth and Sylvia emerged victorious with his first WPT title and the $821,811 first-place prize. Sylvia finished as the runner-up to Greg Merson in the 2012 World Series of Poker main event for $5,292,889. With this latest win he increased his career live tournament earnings to more than $6.7 million. He was also awarded 1,440 Card Player Player of the...Comment -

#45Well done, I won my first deep stack at Mohegan Sun, not quite the take you scored, but that's impressive, those Borgata players are cut throat.Originally posted by dlunc3Looking for a good spot to put the 10k payout down on this week. Any suggestions?
Real nice job, I'd put 1/2 your earnings away for future tournament buy ins.Comment -

#47My experience is that guys get too paranoid about chops. Play the game, let the chips fall where they may.Originally posted by KickShootThrowCan final tables at these events make deals/chops for like the top 5 payouts? #48Some of the deep stacks I play go into hour ten and the players at the final table are like "that's enough" and decide to chop to end it, especially if the stacks are pretty equal.Originally posted by ChuckyTheGoatMy experience is that guys get too paranoid about chops. #50I've chopped many a trny, particularly at underground games around h town.... if the stacks are equal, it's certainly warranted. even if theyre not, throw a few extra bones to the chipleader, and you're done....Originally posted by stevenashSome of the deep stacks I play go into hour ten and the players at the final table are like "that's enough" and decide to chop to end it, especially if the stacks are pretty equal.
all it takes is one hand to flip a stack, one bad beat, and your final table fortunes can change in a heartbeat, so choppin' is usually wise....
i've chopped at the nightly MTT's at the wsop on a couple of occasions, once as the chip leader.... each of the other six players left threw me an extra $200 bucks, and we were done. even got a guy with a lot of gambling losses to take the 1099 for "first place money", while I got the 1099 for seventh place money.... 1099's and tax consequences can affect choppin' in casino-sponsored trnies, as they don't 1099 for the amount of the chop, but for the actual prize money stated per placeComment -

#51*
Card room managers encourage chopping prize pools too.
They don't want to supervise a final table at 1:45 am on a Thursday when the rest of the poker room is pretty much dead.Comment
