I've been looking at this for awhile. I also like GT but haven't pulled the trigger yet. When is the last time Clemson beat GT in Georgia? Like 13 years ago. Clemson is on an 18 game regular season win streak. When was the last time they lost? Against GT.

Dabo is 4-5 against GT. It's a short week to prepare for the triple option. Paul Johnson is 7-2 against ranked teams at home.

That said, Clemson receivers are too much for GT's secondary. No one on GT can cover the tight end either. Plus GT can't get to the QB. They have zero pass rush which is not good against Watson. I'm not sure Dabo will pass the ball around though as he's going to want to run but Clemson has the better players on both sides of the ball. GT will keep it close in the first half with long drives and slow ball.

I'm thinking about taking GT first half and Clemson 2nd. BOL

Surprisingly, Tech under Johnson is 0-2 ATS in Thursday games where the opponent has short (five days') rest from a Saturday game. A very small sample, but not what I expected.

In this case, the short week shouldn't matter matter as much as it might under different circumstances. Clemson played SC St last week. I'm sure much of the time at practice leading up to that game was spent on GT, not SC St.
