NCAA Pulls Championship Games Out Of North Carolina

The NCAA just took a stand against North Carolina's controversial bathroom law and pulled seven major championship games out of the Tar Heel state.

The NCAA announced its decision Monday evening, citing the "actions taken by the state concerning civil rights protections."
The law (officially designated "House Bill 2") is the only statewide law in the country that makes it unlawful to use a restroom that is different from one's biological sex. It also overrules any local laws that treat sexual orientation as a protected class to prevent discrimination against LGBT individuals.

The seven championships that will be relocated from North Carolina for the 2016-2017 academic year include:

2016 Division I Women's Soccer Championship, College Cup
(Cary), Dec. 2 and 4.
2016 Division III Men's and Women's Soccer Championships (Greensboro), Dec. 2 and 3.
2017 Division I Men's Basketball Championship, first/second rounds (Greensboro), March 17 and 19.
2017 Division I Women's Golf Championships, regional
(Greenville), May 8-10.
2017 Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Championships
(Cary), May 22-27.
2017 Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship
(Cary), May 26 and 28.
2017 Division II Baseball Championship (Cary), May 27-June 3.

I went to West Virginia on Labor weekend and drove through Tennessee instead of the usual North Carolina route so I don't have to deal with their bathroom laws.

NFL had the same option to move the Super Bowl when the city of Houston declined to pass a law in favor of transgender rights. I guess they believed it was best to stay out of the political arena, similar to what they are doing with Kaepernick and friends.

Joke... Want to boycott a state uh? ... People should boycott the tournaments, they shouldnt be able to do this. Apply financial pressure to sway law change, is a joke.. I don't think I will be watching the all star game this year, was thinking about going to it since it's now in New Orleans, then thought of how it got here again ... I just can't do it, and I won't do it... and now most likely won't even fill out a bracket this year
