#109I've started to do that over the last couple of years, but their were alot of years that are a blank as far as how much I won and how much I lost.Originally posted by KVBI treat this as a business and always track everything. It helps to designate bankrolls and really bet that small percentage to grind.
I'm all for picking spots, taking that shot, etc, but that is harder to track and what about all the "spots" you missed because you were focused on one. It's a mess.
I track it all, even bets I don't make to get a sense of where the market and money are flowing.
I've treated this as a business for years.
I've been around casinos since I was a kid and learned how to gamble early. Learning to gamble entailed learning that most have no idea how gamble, they just bet at a table, machine, book, etc. They have no idea what they are betting into. Same with sports and poker although both have become much more sophisticated.
Early on, I lost small, bills, the 10, 20, 35, 50 dollar bets, as things developed. Some was avoided by paper trading.
Now I grind the small wins, but with much bigger amounts.

Just been trying to focus on the present, and not worry to much what I lost in the past, otherwise it'll just eat you up.

#111Agreed, and when it was way back and mistakes were made and methods were different, it doesn't matter anymore.Originally posted by packerd_00I've started to do that over the last couple of years, but their were alot of years that are a blank as far as how much I won and how much I lost.

As long as you learned from those mistakes.
Many of which, for most of us, were mistakes in bet size and money management.
Those can be eaasily id'd and corrected.
Capping mistakes can be tougher to root out because sometimes the good play just lost and there was no mistake.

Yep most of us grow and learn this over time, ive had mates that ask me to put bets on for them because they dont know how it all works. It definetly takes a lot of seasoning to get good at.Originally posted by KVBAgreed, and when it was way back and mistakes were made and methods were different, it doesn't matter anymore.
