My Mom does not give 2 fukks whether I take my hat off at the dinner table, bc she is just happy to see me. That is what's important.

#22I actually have an enviable head of hair, thank you. So, yes, I do take my hat off.
I just don't think I should be expected to do something, just bc everyone else wants me to.
I never said I don't take my hat off. I do, actually. I just think it's silly that everyone makes such a big deal about it. I could care less what others do if it does not directly affect my, or someone else's, quality of life.Comment -

#23When your mother passes away, which hopefully won't be for a very long time, will you be showing up at her funeral wearing shorts and a hat?Comment -

What if someone shows up wearing shorts and a hat? Should I scoff at them, or should I thank them for being there? I guess it just depends on what is important to "you."Comment -

#28United States Flag Code:
ยง171. Conduct during playing
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.Comment -

#34Odd, I expected you to be a millenial. You are correct, it is a free country. The reason it is free and you are not speaking German, is because a nation comprised of our grandfathers answered the call and fought to keep it free. It's ashamed that so many d-bags have allowed this, well, people can do what they want, attitude to prevail.
You stand next to me during the anthem wearing a hat or being disrespectful, expect an elbow on your temple. I think it's humorous that a bunch of pussies who don't sign up to serve can't manage to show respect for a few minutes for those who have.Comment -

My wife is an ex-Marine and may be going in to the Air Force. Of course I do the right thing, but the anthem loses it's vigor when you hear it everywhere you go.Comment
