#15Life's about picking yourself after being knocked down. Too many haters here. Punk will be back and he avoided getting choked for part of the time. He's raw, but not a complete flopComment -

#20He's between a rock and a hard place now. Kind of burned his bridge with WWE by the way he quit. At 37, does not look like he has much of a future in UFC. Even if he came back to WWE, his credibility as a character has taken a pretty good hit by looking as bad as he just did. Probably will have to push the envelope, and try one more UFC match hoping he can regain some of his pride. Eventually, wouldn't be shocked if he starts his own wrestling promotion so he can push his own creative ideas.Comment -

#25CM punk made $500,000 for that fight. Mickey Gall got paid $30,000 including a $15,000 win bonus.

They should put him on the ultimate fighter like they did with Kimbo Slice. Get some more miles out of him. He is good on camera of course. And he will get a match people will watch. But Bellator might let him fight Ken Shamrock's corpse for another half mill.Comment -

i guess mma is different but in traditional martial arts, we teach not only blood, sweat and tears but respect and humility.
mma is a joke in that only way to get paid is to talk a lot of shit and cause drama like wwe.
then idiots will like you and become your fans, no joke...Comment -

#29He did. The WWE universe tuned in en masse, and when comparing Meltzer’s most generous estimate for a 203 card without Punk (300,000) to Raimondi’s most conservative total for 203′s actual buy rate (650,000), it’s clear that Punk’s presence more than doubled the event’s the pay-per-view revenue. With each unit costing fans $60 a pop, no Punk would have meant around $15-$18 million in PPV cash. In reality, Punk brought in closer to $39-$48 million, with the possibility for more (Meltzer should have his final numbers in due time).
The former WWE champion now finds himself in a very unique position. Punk’s status as a UFC fighter may not be 100 percent secure, but his standing as one of the company’s top moneymakers is undeniable. What happens to Punk next is up for debate, but there are several ways the UFC can utilize him moving forward.
not sure what people crying about? cm punk is a bum... he brought views to the ppv theyre saying 200k+ more views.... at $60+ a view he got 500k plus ppv so probably made 2mil for the fight which you could say he deserved even more even though he sucks ass thats life in any avenue is it not? Mickey gall is a 24 year old dude who should still be fighting in low level mma he was 1-0 before being found to fought cm punk so hed realistically only be paid 1-2k in those low regional shows hed still be at... he got an easier fight that he didnt get hit 1 time, got 28k more then he wouldve, has way more opportuinities and biggger name now its a win win situation . sucks that hes the better fighter getting paid pennies compared to CM punk but thats life in any business people who think differently are just oblivious to the fact .Comment -

#30Brock Lesnar lost his first UFC fight , tapping out quicker than Punk did. I don't recall all the backlash for Lesnar that Punk is getting. Cut the dude a break, it's one fight..Comment -

#31CM punk was a champion were? He brought in revenue though. And the ufc was built on freak fights, how was ufc 1? Respect for the sport, for the history? BS, ufc was built brick for brick by freak fights.Comment -

#32Lesner at least had a pro fight before getting into the UFC. Punk just said "Hey I want to try this out" and they let him. It just seems unfair to the actual legit fighters who had to work their way into the UFC.Comment -

#34to be fair, Gall had a specific move in mind, and it paid off,
he took Brooks by surprise with that charge to the belly,
got him down and it was over.. Gall is very fast, and did it so soon
that Brooks had no time to react.
This is not a fight where broad judgements can be passed.Comment -
