It's not the rain. It is lightning in the area. They do it all the time. How can you not know this and claim to be a player? See Houston today.

You never want to fukk with lightning. If you see a lightning bolt or you hear thunder, you need to seek shelter immediately. Wait for at least 30 minutes from the last strike or thunder before you resume activities.

It needs to stop, because I can't watch Stan Verrett and Mack Brown try and kill more time on ESPN2. This is brutal, and there's no other good games on right now.

Are you nuts? Here in Texas we have had multiple people killed by lightning during sporting events. My dad is in the Texas Hall of Fame as a head coach and had a kid get struck by lightning during practice many, many years ago. Fortunately, the kid survived but talking to the kids parents was one of the hardest things in the world he had to do.
About 40 players and coaches with the Grapeland High School (search) football team in East Texas were injured, two of them critically, when lightning struck near their practice field Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Same thing happening in Nashville for Vanderbilt-MTSU game right now. Had 60 mph gusts.

Are you an idiot? It's not for the players. There are 100,000 fans in the stadium many children and elderly.

I was at the Tenn/BGSU game in Nashville last year, and it got delayed for lightning that we could see but never came. Worst thing that could have happened though, it was 96 degrees and really humid, the delay added on an extra hour, and middle-aged women were dropping like flies. There weren't enough EMTs and vehicles to help, so you'd just see people laying down near elevators, entryways, concession stands, everywhere. It was all types of people, but mostly middle-aged women.

Can't stand going to daytime sporting events during the spring/summer in this town. Glad my Texans always play here near the end of the season when the temperature has dropped. Game this year is 1-1-17. Nice and cool, and the tickets will be cheap because the Titans will have been out of playoff contention for 10 weeks by then.

I was just about to say that aren't you from SoCal. I lived in Marina Del Rey for 13 years and I NEVER, EVER seen lightning in all those years. Not one bolt or even a hint of thunder.
You come to Houston and you will quickly learn to not be outside during a lightning storm. My house was flooding during a storm a few months ago, where all I had to do was turn on an outside pump and it would have pumped out all the water but I wouldn't dare step outside the house 10 yards to cut the pump on. Lightning was hitting my backyard every other second. I shit you not. A transformer blew and it sounded like a fukkin bomb. My entire family hid in the closet. That shit was real.

i got lucky on the 2nd half under but lesson learned. if it's raining hard and there's a chance for lightning, don't even bother.
