career numbers against individual hitters may mean something but in order for those numbers to mean anything then the same players who he pitched well against vs ATL would have to still be there. they're not so it's not a factor. easy to say now but ATL pitcher was pitching as good as cosart and even better if you bothered to check his recent outings. gold being dead wrong is not unusual lately. don't tail anybody. analyze on your own. baseball is by far the easiest game to handicap if you put in the work. starting pitching is the most important factor and always has been. just because a guy has done well vs a certain team in the past can change when the team changes players. bad idea to base a bet on lifetime past performance unless you go hitter by hitter against him.

too bad that one of them are still not pitching. you miss the point. maybe cinn didn't change players during that stretch. i'm sure they did but maybe glavine or maddox had good numbers against most of the players who were on that team during that span. some AL pitchers had the red sox's number during 2014-2015 but not so much in 2013 and 2016. depends who's in the lineup not what uniform they happen to be wearing. yes, pitchers have success against certain players not necessarily teams. unless they are outstanding vs everyone which one or both of those two were.
