"sharps" "squares" It's all relative. There's a winning pick and a losing pick. That's the bottom line. Let us not get distracted with labels.

People who speak of themselves in the third person who aren't R. Henderson should be publicly stoned like George Carlin might describe in his Olympic bit.

Maybe Sammy "beat the closer" so at least Sammy has a silver lining. Guys in the baseball forum love to talk about "beating the closer"

Actually, it's more profitable to fade the huge movement than anything else.
If you beat the closer by 20 cents or more in baseball, you're fvcked. Period.

Hey, you win some and loose some......putting my 2 cents in,for you newer cappers. Strongly consider power weighting your games! I have said this before and will state it again . Look at it this way: At 11/10 odds your break-even is about 52.5 %. In the long run it is almost impossible to hit at a rate of 58+ % !!! So power weight your games( it does take time to understand, what makes a play better and even longer to understand and read into price movements and base a play on it.!) To make it easier, I would suggest to calibrate the games from 1-6 units!........Newbies, give some thought to this.....it took me 10 years and a lot of cash,to figure this out and apply it to betting.!!!!

Do me a favor: go back and tell me how "profitable" beating the closer by 20+ cents has been in MLB over the last two seasons. You'll be stunned by the results, or lack thereof.

I want a winner. The number is irrelevant if it loses all the time (even though, in theory, you "lose less" by laying minimal juice).
Again, track how profitable you'd be fading 20+ cent line moves. It's ridiculous.

Good numbers matter in the NBA/NFL. Not in this sport. Obviously not saying the number is irrelevant but it's laughable when someone brings up getting a good number. Unless your value fails to exceed win probability it's moot. And some of us have a significant opportunity cost related to the time/information we gain by losing a few cents on the dollar value.
Have someone explain that to you Sammy and then explain it to yourself in the third person for an example.
