These days all lines on cfb are sharp. All. It doesn't matter what the final score is, what matters is if u can value either way before kickoff and these days the odds makers are spot on because they have to be. That's one of the reasons billy walters is pretty much out of betting college football and basketball anymore (allegedly)

Your typical game between a 6-6 team and a 3-9 team. No defense at all, but we are talking Cal here. The books did well with the few wagers (comparatively speaking) they got. Fluctuated the line between 19.5 and 21.5. Split even meaning that they win on the vig.

Do you understand how do line movement works? The books got middled, that is bad news for them. Let me explain: When the books had 21+ line, more money was placed on Hawaii, making them to lower the spread. But when the line hit 19.5, most money were on California at that price, forcing books to return to 20. So, even if the total amount was close to even on both sides, books were "cash flow negative" (ACoochy dixit) at most spreads.

I know, this game was peanuts for them, but still a loss.

I don't believe the books got drilled Cookie. Just my opinion. Line opened at -20 at most books. Game day went to 20.5

When books moved to -21 some people wager on steam. And then some books went to -21.5 indicating more steam.

Books honestly NEVER GET MIDDLED.


It's all about opening line. If the book lays the wrong opening line.... then they are screwed. 20 was perfect.


But regardless... why was California trying to run up the score on that last drive? Really crazy play calling. Haven't seen that in quite some time. I really thought someone wanted California to cover. Just very odd play calling. Up 3 scores... and you're still trying to slam it in their face? Won't even take the starting QB out? Unreal. If I was head coach of Hawaii.... I would of said Fuk u... at mid field after the game. There was absolutely no point to that final drive.
