I loved Cecil when I was a kid growing up. I remember he needed a home run to tie or break the Tigers season record? Or something like that?? On the last game of the year? He hit #50 and then #51 in the same game. Was it the Tigers record? Or MLB Record? Oh well... it gave Detroit fans something to cheer about. I remember going to grade school with one of my friends... he said Cecil will hit 2 home runs tonight.. you watch. My buddy called it.

Insurance is going to pay 50% of his salary, the tigers are responsible for 6 million, and Texas pays the other 9. So still a lot better situation than the 24 mill annually he was set to make.

I found the Prince injury and retirement quite interesting.

1. Prince in my mind... isn't a quitter.

2. Which leads me to believe there has to be a clause in his contract about a career ending injury.

So it's smart if Prince just retires.
