My friend also made the money last year and he only plays in 1 tournament a year! He never had a big stack but stayed in it longer than I did.

Meanwhile, I had 400,000 chips when the average was around 100,000 but sufferd a three real tough beats after we made the money. But the new payout schedule made for real strange play!

One example was that a min cash was 15,000. What makes that number a crucial cutoff is because that was the tax cutoff. 1 penny more and everyone has to fill out a W2G form. The WSOP did this to make payouts much faster. Over 200 players make that amount.


And to the foreign players who are taxed at 25%, they actually made more money by finishing in 1000th place than 600th place for example. That led to some crazy all ins and calls once we reached the money. Guys were talking about the money bubble and the amount all during the 3rd day.
