What trap? Just an excuse. Was it a trap when the Irish, Italians, Polish, or any of the immigrants that came here in the early 1900's? And it was a lot lot tougher. But they all went out and worked hard. Doing anything they could.

The thing about white lives is, they've always mattered. White privilege is real, always has been, even for those born after 1975.

Things like affirmative action are simply measures to attempt to level the playing field, an attempt at equality, and in no way does affirmative action give the black race an advantage over the white race.

If you get defensive over the message, maybe you need to look deep within. If it really makes you angry that blacks are finally organizing and fighting for equality, ask yourself why.

If you don't like the way they're going about their business, or think you would do it differently, understand it's not your place to have that opinion. Save your first amendment speech, if you aren't black and have been subjected to a life of harassment, inequality and racism, then it's probably best to simply say nothing, because you have no clue how you would respond if you walked a day in their shoes.

Your perspective is one viewed through white privileged lenses, you cannot nor do you understand their fight. You cannot fathom being a black parent and worrying sick every night that your child will end up dead. Thats white privilege.

Neither of my parents graduated high school. I lived in a trailer as a little kid. My dad was in jail when I was eight years old. Been in and out my whole life. He is in prison right now. My mom was a single mom for a good part of my life. I tried to get a job at pepsi, coke, ford, etc. Couldn't get in. I got a job selling cars. And then was able to parlay that into what I do now. I have earned every dollar I made.
