I can't say that I blame him. Poor guy, the hit record is all he has left. The hits Ichiro got in Japan certainly shouldn't count, but I think Ichiro has proven that if he played his whole career in the US, Pete's hit record would be in jeopardy.

He was ahead, but Bonds is counting the HRs he hit in the home run contests he is doing against the Marlins hitters.

Pete Rose in Japanese means dumbfukk. The guy is banned from baseball for gambling against his team and all he cares is his stupid record.

So you gonna chastise the guy for life because he made a mistake? Addiction and involvement with the wrong bookies is what fuk'ed him. You think he's the only athlete, manager, or owner to gamble on the sport they're involved in? He admitted it, said he was sorry and moved on.

Pete should be in the Hall of Fame regardless of what he did after his playing days. He earned that record as a player in the Major Leagues and it's the one that will stand. Fuk Ichiro and his pussy Japan league hits. Those fuk'in rag arms couldn't throw a fast ball if their sushi ass lives depended on it! And that's the only reason Ichiro has a high number of hits.

No my point was he needs to concentrate his efforts at getting his ban lifted instead of caring about records. He is in the jailhouse now.

I remember when Ichiro broke the single season hits record and for some reason, no one seemed to give a shit.

You do know that Ichiro is the single season hit record holder in the majors right?

Yeah, I know. Ichiro was one of my favorite players to watch. I loved his aggressive hit/run style at the plate.

Probably never see anyone get 242 hits again in their "rookie" season.

Counting his Japanese hits would be a travesty to the record book; why not count AAA numbers as well.

How many AAA hits does Pete Rose have? Lets tally them to his record and see who has more even though Japanese League is far superior than AAA.

would've been hilarious if wwe kept him out of their celebrity hall of fame as a gag.

I think he ended that catcher's career. I could be wrong though.

Rose had 427 minor league hits in 3 seasons. they had a bit of a different classification system back then.

2 years of class A ball in 1960 and 1961 and one year of class D ball in 1962

                                                            this is interesting though

in 1961 in the Florida League playing for Tampa, Rose hit 30 fugging triples! 30!
