a main argument was that the "integrity" of the sport would be damaged if a state with an NHL team [and a few more close by] had legalized sports gambling

Quebec City nah. At least Vegas has a nice new arena. Vegas will attract a lot of tourists. Any of the Canadian teams in town and it will be 80% road fans vs the locals.

It's going to work here, my only issue was the expansion, opposing to relocating. Not sure why Carolina Hurricanes didn't relocate here.

Unless Quebec City in the next year is getting an expansion as well, adding two more to the league small mistake.
