Personally I dont think those odds are good enough. He is going to have to give up a huge amount of money to leave OKC. If he leaves he is going to expect the tradeoff of a better chance to win the NBA title. With success of a title he would make up some of that money.

The Knicks dont have a better team than OKC and dont have any flexibility or picks to trade. They probably wouldnt even win the East with a rookie coach and Melo. Melo's game doesnt really gel with other shooters.

Maybe Knicks trade Melo for Durant in sign and trade? Then maybe they still can make enough space available for a big third? Not even sure logistics could work but maybe that scenario is woth 30-1?
