Why Can't Jon Lester throw to 1st base?

This is absurd...managers take advantage of every edge they can find.
Lester makes millions...I have no pity on him and would be running all day on him...make him pay up for a specialist to help him or make him work to overcome this. This all coming from a pretty nice guy...and a die - hard Cubs fan.
