Poor Cal? Mahomes might be the best QB in the country and Webb beat out Baker Mayfield. He knows the Cal offense and is not a lot different from Goff. He had some 400 yard passing games for Tech as a soph. He's not great but a legit player and will have multiple 300-yard performances for Cal if he is the starter.Comment -
Webb would have been redshirted his freshman year but had to play because the Tech starter got hurt and all the backups transferred out. In his freshman year, he got his ribs crushed and played half the year with bad ribs. In this soph year, he was the starter but got a very severe ankle sprain and that gave Mahomes the chance to play.
His junior year he never got to play because Mahomes was such a great player.
Webb graduated out in 3 years and never redshirted. So he is a guy that really got rushed into play but never got to develop his skills due to being forced to play early and major injuries and being replaced by a great QB.
He could have a very big year playing for Cal. I don't know what kind of players they have coming back but I think have some decent offensive talent. He has no mobility so he may get hurt again like he did at Tech but he could have a season similar to Goff. He is the same size and has the same arm.Comment
