European intelligence agencies don't exactly have the resources to waste in lieu of education and healthcare spending unlike america so thats unfair and believe it or not but the majority of people in europe haven't been frightened into allowing their freedoms be demolished by a one in a 10 million event...

Besides we all follow the law and that's what this temporary influx of refugees is. The law. I dont make the rules, just highlighting what the law in this case states...

Yes Merkel supported the refugee influx and she will pay for it with her job next time there is an election.
The Nazi party in Germany will once again be in power and we will see what the new laws are after that.
You can be a critic of a law and abide it but not support it.

I'll admit Merkel could've handled it better. Here you have a influx of people who have known nothing but war for the past several years and your asking them to assimilate into a peaceful and cohesive environment??

That's akin to having a paedophile work in a kindergarten but the severity of the results have also been partially magnified thanks to social media and the immediacy of seeing something bad and assuming the worse.

Alot of germans are well known racists anyway so the rise of support for the far right is nothing new.

Thing is, unlike america where money is the value of life the europeans have a fundamentally different take where the value of human life by and large doesn't have a price attached.

Nobody said utilitarianism was perfect but seeing as our generation hasn't seen a true world war we only make assumptions based on what we know and the past, which, alot of these european countries use as a guide as even the current situation is far better than what was experienced by their people some 80 years ago...
