Hawks could win by one and fuk a bunch of tickets. I'm seeing the Boston backers buying the upset purely, since last night while the Atlanta backers don't mind the spread.
A lot of irrelevant stats are giving Boston too much credit which is contributing to the lower line. Even, given the current lineup for Boston, we can see many non-predictive yet often followed numbers still give the Boston Celtics an actual win here.
If we get more sophisticated we can see Atlanta winning this game by anywhere from 7 point to 14 points.
If we add a layer of playoff metrics to sharpen the line we get a game with Atlanta winning by double digits.
The books have a bit of money split here, and with Thomas still listed, as far as I know, as probable Boston is getting more credit in the marketplace than the public may realize. To seasoned gamblers, probable pretty much means he’s in and it should be handicapped as such.
Boston losing by only one point is most certainly in the cards tonight.

As lines get more sophisticated they, for the most part, go up from just over 200 to more sophisticated predictions yielding 207 to 208 points.
Many sources show that the tickets representing public opinion are essentially split on the number but it is no surprise that the line moved from the opener of 197 to 199 and above.
On top of that, I can identify certain groups, influential to say the least, seeking the Over based on a different set of handicapping metrics.
In a contrarian type conclusion, this type of alignment combined with the evidence indicating there isn't a clear, valid edge to be found at these prices for the Under could spell disaster for the Over.
The Under just might be a good bet tonight but I would suggest getting the best line possible with 199.5. While there is certain pressure on the Over that could lead to a near game time adjustment in the line, I’m not sure that adjustment will actually raise the line. It’s a market behavior I don’t want to get into now; except to offer that Under backers should get 199.5 and not worry about later movement.
