They gave up this years 3rd round pick and next years 1st round pick 2018 2nd rd. I agree , I'm not sold on either of these two qbs to trade up but they hardly gave away the farm.

This is what the #2 pick cost 4 years ago

In a predraft blockbuster trade, the St. Louis Rams have agreed in principle to send the second overall pick in this year's draft to the Washington Redskins for three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick.

        and

this year the Rams made basically the same trade if you think these 2 qbs are a coin flip as to who is better.
        they gave up
two 2nd round picks and a 3rd rd pick this year and 1st rd and 3rd round next year

Basically to move up to #2 they give up a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rd picks. they get a 1st rd and 4th rd and they gave up their 1st and 4th. If he's a star QB its well worth it. It he's Ryan Leaf then welcome to Cleveland territory!

I think their gonna end up with Jared Goff. Just find abit strange both teams would be so hell bent on getting these two QBS.

He has a contract now that gives him 17 mil. next year.

I believe the 1st round pick (#8) was the Miami pick they got from the Maxwell / who ever that small LB is from Buff. The 4th round pick (#100) was the pick they received from Tennessee for the Murray trade......

Rams will draft Wentz before the Eagles do.

This is complete insanity!! There are no Elways, Mannings, Big Bens or Marino's in this draft. It is a total crap shoot with any QB in this draft.

So Philly deals a bunch of good draft spots in hopes of finding a clone of a guy who shits the bed in every big game? Dalton is an average qb. Redheads aren't winners.

In Philly's favor though....their division is complete garbage with not much reason for optimism in New Jersey, Dallas or Washington.

Eagles essentially gave up a 1,2 and 3 to move up to #2 overall. And those picks are spread out over multiple years. That is very managable considering what teams typically give up in trades like this. If Wentz is Big Ben (not dalton), which is his comparison, this is a great move. I also like the move for Cleveland if they do not think Wentz is the right guy.

Jon Gruden: Eagles ‘have too many quarterbacks’

“The problem right now I see in Philadelphia is they have too many quarterbacks to be friendly with,” Gruden said. “How are they going to distribute any reps and get anybody ready when you got Sam Bradford making $18 million, you’ve got Chase Daniel who’s a backup making $7 million, and now you have the No. 2 pick in the draft? I don’t know how you’re going to get these guys reps and get them ready, but [coach] Doug Pederson will have to answer that.”

“When you look at the amount of reps you can have with your team, that number is substantially less than it was five years ago with this new collective bargaining agreement,” Gruden said. “You’ve got a new head coach who’s running a new offensive system — he better get it in there quickly, because the games are about to start — so who’s going to get the reps and who’s going to get the leftovers?”

“You don’t have time to get three guys reps. You just don’t. If you do, you’re not running a real sophisticated offense. It’s hard to get one guy to go today, let alone two. So there could be a trade. I don’t want to start any rumors in Philadelphia, but if they do draft a quarterback with all they have invested in him, I’m sure they’ll want to get him as many reps as possible, and that’s going to make somebody I think unhappy and perhaps expendable.”

It will sell tickets and give them an excuse if they suck in Wentz's rookie year. This move kind of buys the franchise some time. Not a good move in my opinion but definitely something to keep in mind. Sort of a step in a weird direction for a team that was thought to be a legitimate contender not that long ago. Who knows. Maybe Wentz will be unreal good and they will win 5 games.

Overpaid and ridiculous gamble. These gm's as gamblers make us look like alter boys haha. I just don't see the can't miss prospect in either of these guys worth the bounty. Rams I get a little more they are in a new big market and need to "hopefully" land that face of franchise qb. That and plenty of talent on that team they could be just a qb shy of legit contender. Philly on other hand needs a lot more than a qb the picks more value to them than this gamble. Philly far from 1 piece away from title hopes.
