    Vin Scully needs a partner!
It's so damned weird, it's like he's talking to himself!

I mean amazing broadcaster, total legend, voice like gold and all that... but I can't watch Dodger games because it just weirds me out that it's ONE GUY sitting there talking to himself.

    Anyone agree?

He's been torturing people on the air for 100 years now.
Thanks God this is his last one.
    One of the worst ever.
I go insane when the opposing team isn't available and I'm stuck watching them on mute.

Okay, but like him or not, isn't it just the weirdest decision ever to have him do games with NO partner?! There's a REASON broadcasters work in pairs.

First time i listened it was a weird feeling for sure. But you have to understand hes like telling a story to the viewers. Its not that hes talking to himself. He does the play by play and everything in between all on by himself. And then has some great stories and personal dialogue in between. It really is very unique and amazing how hes the only one to do this and master it. #LEGEND

You definitely don't fit in the majority box with your opinion.
He tells amazing stories he don't need no dumb partner. That's for weak pussy announcers.

Vin Scully and Chick Hearn best announcers of all time. Deal with it buddy.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's one of the all-time greats. I just can't get past the solo thing, I don't enjoy it. I find it unsettling. Which is a shame because he'd be of my favorites to listen to. Maybe I'll get used to it at some point but I guess this his last season so maybe not.

Best baseball announcer of all time (sorry Benny), and the fact that he could carry broadcasts by himself is one of the things that makes him so great. I think it would be weirder if he suddenly had to share the booth with somebody else.

I thought it was a recent thing. Has he always been by himself?

Forever with the Dodgers, yes. He used to have partners on network tv.

Yeah.. not sure what your problem is.. the guy is a LEGEND .. I LOVE HIS STORIES..

He has so much dirt on every player and he never runs out of stories.

He is also witty as shit.. Shit there is an entire website dedicated to his stories and quotes..

"Derek Jeter is listed as Day to Day... Aren't we all"

"Well they are gonna call that one a strike.. I think that was a mercy call as the Dodgers take a 8-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th"

Guy is a class act.. I already told my friends I am watching as many Dodger games as I can this year just to listen to him with this being his last season..

Okay, boys, you convinced me. I am gonna try and stick with it the next time the Dodgers are broadcast here. I never said I didn't enjoy the man, just that I preferred a team.

                                      He's a 1950's announcer bro.
Only old guys could possibly stand listening to a senile old fukk babble about how Clayton Kershaws great-grandfather's favorite ice cream in 1921 was rocky road.
Shoulda been put out to the pasture many many years ago.
Brings no current knowledge to the booth for new and upcoming fans of the game. He follows nothing but the Dodgers and what they put in front of him to read about other teams. Has no clue who's who.
Yeah, he WAS a good announcer....Before most of us were born
No one in the 21st century wants to listen to that shit.

Am truly going to miss him when he retires at the end of the year. I'm glad I have the MLB package so I can watch a few of his games this year. Truly a treasure to the game of baseball.
