Great bet. Wings are built for the playoffs. Lightning have given the Wings some trouble with Bishop in the past but their offense will be too much to handle in the playoffs. They're too deep and have too much speed this year. Datysuk and Zetterberg are finally healthy entering the playoffs for the first time in several years. Datysuk is a top 3 player in the league come playoff time.

They never were better than Bolts and the reg season record and stats show just that...but with Stamkos out and with a few aging stars like Datsuyk who are pretty much singing off on NHL at this point of their career, you have a legitimate chance to get by Lightning in the first round.

I don't pay attention to regular season stats. The Red Wings players like Zetterberg and Datysuk are a lethal combination and one of the best in the league, don't care what people say about their age or their slippage in the regular season. When it's time...in the playoffs...these guys show up. We took the lightning deep last year with a worse team. Lighntning went on to the cup finals. Also that year we had the Hawks down 3-1....didn't the hawks win the cup that year? Red Wings are a completely different team in the playoffs. More so than any team in the NHL save for maybe the Kings and Blackhawks. We can beat all these pansy teams including the Capitals, Lightning, Sharks, Rangers....any team like that we have a good chance of beating regardless of any stats.

Don't know how I missed this thread, must be slipping. In no way, shape, or form is Detroit better than the Lightning. Too much speed? The only way they can skate with the Bolts is to clutch, grab, hook, cheap shot, etc., much like last year. Paid for that crap tonight to the tune of 3 pp goals. Would have been icing on the cake if that punk-ass Abdelkader forgot to "tape" his gloves () and got the shit beat out of him. There's always next game.
