What was the FIRST big thing you bought after a big win?

Ya, I know very few bettors are lifetime winners blah blah but once in a while we see the big 8 Teamers hit, or the run of a lifetime with 24 wins. So, What did you buy the first time you made a score?

Here is mine... It was a 50 inch Hitachi for about $3500. Best part of buying it was telling the guy at Sears, "No, sir. I wont need the financing. I'm paying cash." Second best part was silencing the girlfriend about gambling. Sure I just lost a small car the season before but she wasn't saying squat about all the time spent handicapping because we were watching Titanic on glorious 50 inches of 480p non-widescreen cinema.


She kind of looked like this. Came out the wall so far I gave up 1/4 of living room.

When I was 19, or maybe just turned 20, a guy at my work used to collect bets for his bookie. This idiot would pass out cards with every CFB game on it for the week. The problem was, these cards were printed on Tuesday and used the opening lines, so they'd have terrible lines all over them. He didn't take single bets so you had to do parlays.

I was able to get 6 or 7 lines that were way off from where they closed. I'm talking I got teams as a FG favorite that ended up closing at more than a TD favorite.

I do remember that I used the old Beat the Prick contest, when we could see the plays as soon as someone picked them, to pick the majority of the games. Went through and found the top player's best bets and took those, with the bad lines they were pretty much teasers.

I don't remember how much I bet, though it wasn't more than $40 or $50, but ended up winning $5000. Got paid then called in sick a few days and took a long weekend away in the mountains. Cabin, hot tub, booze.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't take my bets after that (this was only the 2nd week I'd bet with him).
