If you have a 50,000 bankroll, I could see doing that. Golden State still had a 99% chance of winning that game (it was the largest upset in NBA history). If the ML was 15,000 - then that would have been a bad bet. But if he even got ML at -9,000 - that is still +EV money at 99% probablility.
