If desperation means anything in sports--and admittedly, it often doesn't--the Bruins will get it done today. Losers of 5 straight, the B's have gone from flirting with winning their division to potentially missing the playoffs. Plenty of guys on this team are fighting for their jobs. In 2 straight games they have been totally screwed by the NHL replay crew in Toronto. Stunningly bad calls! Tonight they'll take out their frustrations on the the Maple Leafs, sporting the worst record in hockey. The start of a 4 game road trip, look for the B's to get the W. Lay it.

Not sure why this particular game is the Leafs playoffs? Bruins are definitely slumping but many of these players livelihoods are at stake. Needing to win 4 of their last 7, they can't let this 2-foot gimme putt get away from them.

^ because for the leafs this would be one of the larger accomplishments of their season in playing spoiler to a bitter rival. Personally though I think Philly is a better play especially with the better odds. Even as someone who appreciates the tight game that Arizona play under Tippett, and am not underestimating them. I just think Philly have some good energy and it is showing in their play. Yes Boston will be desperate but their game is showing holes. I'd rather lay my money on another team fighting for playoffs that is clearly coming together and really playing well as a team.

JJ, please explain how a team can have the worst record in the league but be considered a tough opponent? Maybe a college team would find them tough but as far as the NHL goes they're the easiest out available.

I really doubt they win by two without an empty netter lakerboy. Clearly you haven't watched Babcocks leafs very often. Awful record but they play tight hockey and have only played stronger as the season as progressed.
