Thats crazy bad by UNI. I had A&M in my bracket so happy for the result but good lord. Wonder if UNI coach can use that in recruiting "we were part of NCAA history - almost made sweet 16 had I coached them better throughout the year"
That sequence lasted a long time. I remember getting in the shower when that sequence started and just hoping the game went over the total. I get out at least 15 minutes later and see the inbound blooper and score with 1.9 seconds left. Damn. Did the sequence NOT show some of UNI turnovers?

I think the video missed one, at 69-63. A&M scored, then next cut, they were inbounding and the guy hit a 3 to make it 69-66.

I doubt I've ever seen a team in the tournament as unsound in fundamentals as UNI. What in the hell have they been practicing since October?
This one falls on the coach.
does that coach still have a job???

Actually, he's regarded as one of the best mid-major coaches in the country.

A@M won the game but how do they not continue to press in the overtime? N Iowa had no chance if they kept pressing but decided to play the way they did to get down 12 once the overtime started and were very lucky not to lose the game in the 1st overtime.

That's what I was saying man....They were also just letting Northern Iowa take open 3s after running the shot clock down all game and did it again in the first OT....I was screaming at the TV for A&M to get up on them as they are obviously going to shoot the 3
Crazy game but happy they won ultimately

Bottom line: You must have good guards to survive in this tournament. Just ask Purdue - they were up 12 with 3 minutes left and had trouble breaking the pressure as well. But NI's loss was much, much worse... just brutal!
Amazing to watch again. They will never live that one down...

They pressed because they were forced to do that and the only reason it worked is NI had no timeouts left to stop the madness. In OT they put the player that normally in bounds the ball back in. The only reason all that happened was because that kid was injured on the bench in that small stretch of time. Once OT hit NI has timeouts and their normal inbounder as well as had time to collect themselves.

With that length of time I would think the sequence miss more than one, but it could have been a tv timeout after each basket, free throw, or dead ball.
