The Most Unbelievable First Round In NCAA History?

Night ends on 2 buzzer beaters, one half court shot and a dunk waived off. Simple unbelievable. I saw this graphic:

- first time a #13, 14, and 15 won on the same day of tourney

-already 10 wins by double digit seeds (tournament record for one round)

- 2 schools getting first wins ever in tournament (Hawaii, Yale)

-#1 seeds win by a combined 117 points

I can't remember a opening round that was this entertaining, can anyone else?

Obviously it was going to be interesting just by the regular season but the endings of some of these games were nuts. I was trying to remember a day like this from years past

People calling into question seeding and really some of these matchups shouldn't be happening until later rounds but I guess it makes for one hell of a 1st round.

Most boring tourney I have ever seen. I don't care about Cinderellas. The committee is doing a horrible job with seedings. You can tell from the lines. A #11 favored over a #3? You can't fukk up this tourney any worse than the committee did.

I agree committee has done a poor job seeding but boring? Not sure about that

who the fuk cares about seeding?!...once the tournament starts, it's every man for himself...year in and year out, the committee does a great job getting the teams in and seeding them accordingly...of'course there are going to be times when they overseed or underseed a few teams but for the most part they get it right considering the hard job and task they have at hand...another factor is every year, the big 5 power conferences always put 6 - 7 teams in the field and every year 5 or 6 of them are eliminated after the first weekend...it's happened in the past with the ACC and Big East and its happened the last several years with the Pac - 12, Big - 10, and Big 12!...this is the reason why you have these so-called "upsets"....

I don't understand how you can say boring... Close matchups game winning buzzer shots... If you like watching blow out games then yes most of these games must of been boring for you.

I love blowouts. I do not like watching 40 minutes of bad basketball only for the game to end in a buzzer beater. Missed FTs that are air balls and then the other team scores buzzer beater on another air ball which was an offensive push that wasn't called. This is boring.

UNC going down...well maybe not, but I guarantee you they put up a good fight and cover the spread!......they shot absolutely horrible against USC and still won the game...don't look for that same kind of performance tonight.

What's impressive about these first-round upsets is that the little guy went out and grabbed the giant by the neck. It wasn't as though Michigan State or West Virginia lost on fluke plays. The teams that won deserved to — though Iowa should have had Temple shooting free throws at the end of OT the way that guy who put in the game winner shoved a Temple player like a freakin' linebacker in order to get in position. This was as wild a first round as I can ever remember.

come on unde0087...learn how to read bro...I wasn't comparing UNC to USC...I merely pointed out that Providence played like dog shit the entire game and shot horribly, but still found a way to win the game....point being, they won't shoot that bad two games in a row....

congrats on your heels, man!......but lets be honest here...damn zebras are whistle happy and basically gave Carolina the game by getting Providence's best two players in foul trouble (Bentil and Dunn)...not only phantom calls but anytime a defender got near a Tarheel to play some defense, the refs blew the whistle...this has ruined college basketball...
