When Buffet and Quicken loans gave that offer in the past there were constant long shot calculations of a perfect bracket. I think, but am not sure, that all of those calculations assumed each team had a 50% of moving forward and then the scenarios were added up from there.

We all know the odds of some teams getting out of some rounds are either far better, or far worse, than 50-50.

It seems to me that to calculate the probability of a perfect bracket would have to depend on the teams playing, etc. and that it would be different each year. Or maybe the probabilites even out by the end, or maybe I'm not considering a few things.

I haven't thought too hard about it...lol.

My wife won a tourney a few years ago. She picked the teams based on what jerseys looked better. She had a 15 beating a 2 and I was like, no way, you can't pick that team. There is no way they're going to win. They won by 20 points.

The odds of hitting perfect bracket is like 1 in 9 quintillion. Picking 63 straight winners would virtually be impossible let alone moving winners forward predicting their win vs a future opponent that you had to predict right as well . And I did hear that it would be like winning powerball back to back.
