When I was 14 I wanted to stay as far away from the olds as I could most of the time, super weird, kid needs to get a hobby. JC keeping famlies together since ages ago.

What's weird to me in this whole situation is why some of the other players like Eaton and Sale are acting like some huge injustice has occurred. I get wanting to stick up for your buddy & all but this seems way beyond reason, boycotting games, cause the work place imposing rules, really? Either I'm missing something or these guys are spoiled brats or they really have it in for the GM and using this kid situation as a scapegoat to voice their frustrations.

Probably acts like that kid in Game of Thrones that is lord of the Eyrie. No doubt some players and/or coaches brought it up to management... now they hang them out to dry as they get raked over the coals. Stupid. If I had to hang around a 14 year old kid at work every day, no matter how awesome he was, I'd want to kill him after about 2 days.
I hope he does retire, fukking Met killer.

I think you are missing this from the players point of view. Alot of the rumours surrounding this situation indicate that LaRoche had either a verbal agreement or had it written into his contract that his son was allowed unlimited access to the clubhouse. From the perspective of guys like Eaton and Sale, I think this has more to do with the organization not honoring their agreement (written or verbal) then it has to do with the kid not being allowed in the clubhouse. If in fact there was an agreement made when LaRoche signed and the club is now going back on that (coincidentally after LaRoche had a horrible season) I am sure you can see why that might piss off some of the players. It fosters a relationship where the players have to question how much they can trust ownership to keep their word as well as question whether the club will take steps to make life more difficult for them if they dont perform.

Compare apples to apples though. Imagine if your job was something like a traveling sales person where you are on the road 6-8 months of the year. Also try to imagine that before you took this job you had an agreement with your employer that you COULD bring your kid with you to work. Finally imagine that when you took the job you had to sign a contract preventing you from working anywhere else until the contract is up......
So now the sales numbers come in from last fiscal year and it looks like your personal sales were quite a bit lower that what your employer was expecting so they say they need you to focus more and as a result you cant bring your kid with you anymore. So you are now in a situation where you dont see your kid for 6-8 months of the year while on the road. I bet you'd see this a little differently.
