A REAL GOOD 3 to 1 BET - Christie to be Republican VP nominee
3/3/16 8:49am Pending 7/18/16 8:00am Politics Other Sports 951 Chris Christie is Republican VP Nominee +300* vs Field wins Republican VP Nomination

I just got on this at 5Dimes.

At 3 to 1, it should have a good chance, but there is also a chance that Trump brokers a deal for the nomination in which he doesn't get to choose his VP.
Still it seems to me that the odds on this should be 3 to 2.

5Dimes took down the VP nominee bet, maybe it will be up later - I'll keep my eye out for it.

Nothing matters to Trump more than loyalty. Christie was the first establishment Republican to come out for him, so if Trump is in the position to choose his running mate and Christie wants it, I think he will get it.

But those are excellent points about AG and either a female or regionally relevant running mate.

Christie will be AG. Bet kasich on VP. Would lock up Ohio for trump in the general and he is liked by nearly everyone. Nobody else brings anything to the table

Exactly. Christie has no chance for VP, just simply stumping for the Donald at this point. Kasich is the obvious choice - that's why he will stay in the race for awhile, raise his profile. Ohio will be huge in November!

This is the question I have in general, and then this election in particular ... Do these guys care after the fact about having been attacked? If not, I'd love to see Kasich fill the bottom of the ticket, though he's still pretty establish-y to me, I'd wonder how that would go regarding the wall and immigration

Rubio might even be a better VP spot than Christie. Christie's favorability ratings are poor, and Kasich would be a no brainer over him.

Can you lay the other side?

No way, a ticket with two guys from Blue Northeastern states. Terrible bet. Assume Trump has a 75% chance of winning nomination. That means Christie is like a 50-50 chance. Not a chance, if I had to guess, it would be Kasich if he would agree to it. Else, someone from the South or a swing state to balance the Geography.

Maybe you could explain how you got to 3 to 2 being correct odds, then your ascertainment that 3 to 1 odds are "GOOD" odds makes sense.

Why would Trump pick a politician for VP?

He will pick a businessman. Someone like Michael Bloomberg or Mark Cuban or even Jerry Jones.

He already said he's going to pick an established politician. Cristie was a good bet when he was more than 10-1, but as a co favorite, not so much. Kasich is the obvious choice, but he is adamant he doesn't want it. They all say that though, but I believe Kasich. A live longshot is Rob Portman. Also from Ohio, vast Gov't experience, nuts and bolts guy.
