Anybody ride motorcycles? (Bikes) I need help.

I'm looking to buy a used bike. I'm new and I don't want to buy something fast. My friend is looking to sell me his bike for about $2700. He got it for $3500. Looks something like this....



I need to know what kind of bike to really look for. I was also interested in Cafe Racer types also but I don't know if parts are hard to find.

Help me find what I am looking for and need to know.

I never understood the point of them? If I'm driving down the highway, and someone runs into me, I want to give myself every opportunity to win that collision. I've had a few fender benders in vehicles where not thing was scratched except the vehicle. Ever heard of someone getting into a fender bender on a motorcycle? No, cause they're now dead.

I can say they r fun to ride but that's about it. Had a wreck on one few years ago and split my left leg in half. Luckily got it all repaired but mentally it isn't possible for me to get on one again

This looks like a Kawasaki Ninja 250..also known as a girl's bike.

You need to buy a bigger bike. But before you buy one you need to get a license else you will get hurt.

Spoken like a true ignoramus that doesn't know how to ride a motorcycle. It's not dangerous. Only a complete idiot would get into a fender bender with a car when you can easily avoid the collision by swerving to the curb or pass the car you are about to hit.

JMob I ride a Yamaha 1300...Cruiser...more comfortable than the sport bike you're looking at...plus the insurance is astronomical on those versus the other types as well you'll find. Ask around first because that's a show stopper for the young riders that I talk to when they find out...Cruisers are more affordable on insurance and cost you'll find

I always wanted one for the city because you can lane split like an asshole and get where you are going faster but never really been interested in them. Where will I put my case of beer?

There is a guy in my building who owns a $350,000 Aventador but chooses to drive his sport bike on a daily basis. Seems crazy other than that lambos attract a ton of unwanted attention, which is crazy cuz in a city like Toronto they are a dime a dozen.

Hey bud yeah I ride,if your looking for a good startup Bike,you should look into getting a Buell Blast. First Road Bike I owned was a Blast.

cafe racer too uncomfortable and more difficult to ride usually for a new rider. Looks cool though.

Little Jap 250 a nice choice to start out. You will want to move on to bigger if you like riding pretty fast but they are easy to sell as a lot of people start on them.

Yeah that's definitely a 250. If you did buy it you would learn quickly on it then you would realize it isn't enough power and you will want more. Also riding that thing on a highway you will have it almost full throttle probably. You should always have a bike with enough acceleration to get you out of a situation you don't wanna be in or if you see something happening and you need to accelerate and switch lanes to get out of the way safely. I prefer the super moto's like a DRZ 400 so you can switch tires and go ride trails too.
