I've paid attention to many of his conversations and interviews across the years, he comes across as a wise ass with a sense of humor with a big ego.

I met Jeter at Joe's Bar in NYC in the early 90's, he was with then New York Giants Jason Sehorn.
My date at the time pokes me and says "that's Jeter, who's he with" I told her Jason Sehorn, she says go over and say hi.
I go over to Jeter, say hi, tell him I like the way he plays or something like that, it was his second or third year in the league.
