No, it's not. Neither is New Hampshire. Two very small and bad examples of the actual make-up of the American public. How soon we all forget.
Unless you're betting on it, there's no good answer. This whole thing is a mess.
Hillary/Rubio - In bed with every major big corporation out there
Trump - Not, but just shouting at the majority of pissed-off white people and pandering. Cannot possibly make a good POTUS.
Sanders - Even bigger disaster than Trump. Wants us to become like other countries that we would never want to be if we knew what it was really like to live there. Just shouts mindless platitudes even worse than Trump does.
Rand Paul - And as usual, nobody wants to vote for the one who shuns big money and has good ideas that might actually work.
America will be fine regardless, but our leader will be either a pawn or a clown. Again.

No. Iowa is not really important.
It has 30 pissant delegate votes in the Republican National Convention.
In the Republican Party there are 2.380 convention votes for a presidential nominee.
To win the nomination a candidate needs a simple majority of 1,191 delegate votes.
Again....Iowa is not important in the grand scheme of becoming the nominee.
It's nice to win the Iowa caucus because it's the first "primary".

he's the only two-party candidate i would've been willing to vote for in a general election
will be voting for Gary Johnson again if he gets the nomination, hopefully McAfee disappears into the jungle

Non-americans care way more about the US than actual Americans. That's just fact (at least on the internet).

Well I am canadian so I have been outside of America.
You just seem so fascinated with American affairs it's as if you are American.
Sure what happens in the usa has impact throughout the world but it doesn't mean that an aussie needs to be constantly focusing on a nation that has little to none focus on his o nation.

Regardless of what happened in Iowa... 50% of what you're hearing is false from the media. That's why the lines are moving up and down like crazy at 5D on this Presidential race. How someone can go from +1300 to -180 to +400 to -320 is ridiculous.
All that matters is come election day.

It's true to a point. USA is the center of attention most of the time and we don't even realize it because we don't care about anybody else and are surprised other countries can't adopt that same mentality.
USA is Sterling Archer.

As far as political betting goes, it's very easy. Use Nate Silver's #'s and done. No need to pay attention to anything else. Dimes/bettors might've caught on to this by now, but it's what I've done in past elections.

No presidency was ever decided in Iowa. Its comparable to the first :45 of a basketball game. So Rubio made the first basket, big deal. Lots of primaries left.
Not that it really means anything, Hillary was deemed next-in-line years ago. It's not up to the people anymore. That was changed a long time ago.
