Republican front-runner candidate Donald Trump has a big lead in the race for the 2016 presidential nomination nationally, swamping his opponents with a 40.6 percent share of those surveyed, a Reuters-Ipsos tracking poll found on Friday.
The survey of 582 respondents found Trump with a higher percentage of the vote than his next four challengers combined, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz drawing 10.5 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 9.7 percent, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush at 9.2 percent and Florida Senator Marco Rubio with 7.2 percent.
In a hypothetical matchup between Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and Trump, Clinton holds a statistically insignificant lead of 41.4 percent to 40.8 percent.
Trump has been leading national polls of Republican voters for months. He also holds a lead in some polls in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire with the Iowa caucuses just days away on Feb. 1.
A separate Reuters-Ipsos poll on Friday found the U.S. economy re-emerging as a major concern for voters. Economic concerns had taken a back seat to fears of terrorism after last year's Islamic State attacks in Paris.
The survey of 1,614 respondents found terrorism a top concern at 20.3 percent, but the U.S. economy close behind at 18.2 percent.

I love all these political posts about huge lead. I think we sportsbettors may not be looking at this quite right. Trump does not have a lead the way football team entering the 4th quarter up 21 has a huge lead. In fact, Trump no lead because nobody has voted. Now if Trump gets to 2,000 relegates and everyone else has a couple hundred, then yeah he had a huge lead. But nobody has voted yet so nobody has any lead. It's like crowning a champion in the offseason because they signed top free agents/ They still gotta play the game.

Who knows what they are anymore but they are one thing for sure.
The National Review is not relevant anymore, Trump saw to that. All 20 or so
of these crybabies never went to war yet every one of them were cheerleaders
for Bush II Iraqi war, which was the primary factor for the disaster so apparent
in the Mideast now.

Two of these guys Trump did a real number on sending them slowly into obscurity.

This Erickson guy was fairly appreciated in republican politics until this years
Red-State gathering he oversees. It used to get some press usually you'll
see a few video clips of the event. This year because of Trump's attacks on
Megan kelly of Fox, Etrickson banned Trump from the event & get this actually
invited Megan Kelly (Not a candidate) to take his place. Naturally, Kelly did not
accept the invite & the only clip of the fiasco I saw on TV was that 'low energy
guy' ranting about “Give me a break. I mean, do we want to win? Do we want to
in*sult 53 per*cent of all voters? What a highlight!

After Donald Trump made comments about Fiorina face, at the next debate
she delivered a response to Trump’s comments about her looks ioffering him a
cold stare and earning loud applause. Rich Lowry's interpretation of the event
on Fox was Fiorina cut Trump's 'balls off with the precision of a surgeon' Fox News
chastised & considered suspending Lowry.

So here we go two of the 20 or so anti-Trump pundits who oddly consider themselves
the intellectual voice of conservative who made asses of themselves trying to stem Trumps road
to the nomination are trying again, to no avail.
